Chief Mother Floretta Smith, the respected and admired wife of Chief Apostle Clyde Smith, was born in Goose Creek, SC. Mother Smith attended school in Berkeley County and continued her education at Tugaloo Christian College in Tugaloo, MS. Mother Smith taught in the Berkeley County School system until she married and became a full time mother. Along with her husband she has nine children, twenty-two grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is a loving and patient mother, devoted wife, and faithful co-pastor and church mother.
Mother Smith serves many offices in the church operating in whatever capacity necessary to do the work of the Lord. Chief Mother Smith, an awesome counselor, teacher, preacher, and assistant pastor. Mother Smith is loved, admired, and respected by many. She is a woman of much wisdom. She is an example to all women, young and old. She is definitely a virtuous woman and her price is far above rubies.
While God has blessed Mother Smith with many gifts and talents of her own, her greatest desire is to help her husband continue the work that God has assigned to their hands. She works very faithfully by his side traveling all over with him assisting him in the ministry. In 1979, Mother Smith joined the Faith Temple movement along with her husband and served as the humble and dependable assistant to the Late Chief Mother G.R. Waiters for many years. In 1999, after the death of the Chief Mother G.R. Waiters, Mother Smith was elevated to Chief Mother.
She takes her God given assignments very seriously. She has God’s people at heart; she is very compassionate about God and his desire for her life. She tends to the needs of her followers, with love and kindness. Chief Mother Smith, an ambassador of Christ, proclaims God’s message to those placed in her path. She spreads God’s words through her teaching and by setting an example to her followers.
